General Objective:
At the end of their study of this module, learners will be able to produce a narrative tell a story, to describe a person, a place or an object, to explain concepts and ideas and to defend a point of view.
Specific and Operational Objectives:
1. To recall past experiences by referring to time, place and events.
1.1. To list the series of events of a movie they watch.
1.2. To reproduce the story of the movie in the form of a narrative essay, making use of chronological order sequencers.
2. To write a description of a picture you observe (of a person, an object, or a place).
2.1. To list some adjectives that best describe a suggested picture.
2.2. To describe a picture being observed in an essay form.
3. To produce an expository essay of different types (Definition, Process, Classification, Cause/Effect, Compare/Contrast).
3.1. To write, in the form of an expository essay, a definition of a term, concept or an idea. (Definition essay)
3.2. To write a process essay on how something is done .(Process essay)
3.3. To write a classification essay through categorizing ideas, characters or objects.
3.4. To write a cause/effect essay the causal relationship between things. (Cause/effect essay)
3.5. To write a compare and contrast two people, things or objects.
4. To defend a point of view through the use of logical argumentation.
4.1. To refute the opponent’s point of view.
4.2. To support your own viewpoint using strong arguments.
