General Objective:
By the end of the module, the learner will be able to write an argumentative essay.
The present chapter discusses the following: Definition of argumentation, in a general sense, in addition to argumentative topic selection. The definition takes into account the tools the pros and cons of argumentation and how the tools that can be used.
The two most common organizational patterns are dealt with in this chapter
The chapter discusses how supporting ideas can be phrased to persuade the reader and/or refute the other side's arguments
The chapter discusses the appropriate language, indicators, and discourse markers that ensure a powerful impression on the reader
There are given metrics that distinguish a correct and powerful thesis statement from an incorrect and weak one. In this chapter, those are to be discussed.
The four categories of claims (definition, cause and effect, solutions, value) are to be discussed in this chapter.
