Persuasive writing, also known as ‘argumentation’, uses logic and reason to show that one idea, assertion, opinion, hypothesis or theory (PROS) is more legitimate and truthful than another (CONS) in an argumentative issue. It attempts to persuade a reader to adopt a certain point of view or take particular action. The argument, thus, must always use sound reasoning and solid evidence by stating facts, making introductions, giving logical reasons, drawing conclusions, using examples and quoting experts and applying them to the case in discussion.
