Semester one:

- Intuition

- Sensory perception
- Reasoning/ logic
- L4: Critical thinking :
- Higher order thinking skills / lower order thinking skills
- The distinction between fact and opinion
- Scepticism as a major component of CT
- L5: Philosophies (paradigms) of research: positivism vs Interpretivism

- L7: quantitative/ interpretive research
Semester two :
L8: Components of a published research work (an example is provided from both types: quantitative and qualitative research):

General goal :
Is to introduce the students to the methodology of research in social sciences and to demonstrate the application of research to your academic and professional career by using the scientific method. Your understanding of research methods will undoubtdly be useful in your academic career when you conduct an independent research project

The task :
Read the attached PDF file , then answer the following questions:
