Genral Objective
At the end of the study of this module students are expected to be able to pronounce the English sounds correctly and spontaneously as native speakers do. -phonetics helps them also to better understand spoken English.
Specific Objectives
Students are expected to be able to know the different parts of the vocal tract which interfere in the production of speech
Students are expected to be able to differentiate between the articulations of the sounds of speech which are part of a complex and dynamic process, not a series of static positions of the organs of speech
Students are expected to be able to distinguish between the different sounds of the language and to use them accurately in phonetic transcription
Students are expected to be able to pronounce the words in the correct manner even without the presence of the teacher
