2.2. The Body (The Developmental Paragraphs)
The body is an extension (elaboration) of the thesis statements. Each developmental paragraph discusses one subtopic (aspect) specified earlier in the thesis statements; it provides the reader with details (definitions, facts, examples, arguments, etc) to support his standpoint or position. The DP starts with a clear topic sentences followed by some supporting details and ends with a concluding sentences that restates the main idea in the paragraph or makes reference to what will be discussed in the next DP. The paragraphs in the body should appear in a logical order in a way that suits the writer’s purpose
