By the end of the course, students will be able to recognize and recall basic spoken English forms and expressions in common situations in order to build a foundation for effective listening and simple oral communication.

Identify reasons, feelings, and basic attitudes expressed by speakers and state simple personal reasons for learning English.
Recognize common stress and intonation patterns in spoken English and repeat short opinions using these patterns.
Identify common expressions used in everyday social situations and choose appropriate ones in simple interactions.
Recognize basic formal expressions used in meetings and interviews and recall them in guided speaking activities.
Identify words and simple structures used to describe and compare people, places, and habits and use them in short oral descriptions.
