Specific Objective:

The student will distinguish between the different types of essential nutrients and deduce the role of each nutrient in supporting body health and sustaining life.

Procedural Objectives:
  • The student will accurately differentiate between the six essential nutrient groups (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water).
  • The student will concisely deduce the vital functions of each type of nutrient.
  • The student will sequentially and clearly identify the effects of nutrient deficiencies or excesses.
  • The student will explain the importance of dietary balance and diversity of food sources in maintaining overall health .
