The General Objective: At the end of this course, Students will be able to understand the development of human civilizations and cultures focusing on their contribution to world and human development.
Specific Objectives:
At the end of each lecture:
1- Students will distinguish between the key concepts: Civilization, Culture, and Neolithic Garden Cultures
2- Students will explain important aspects of different religions around the world
3- Students will understand the role of religion in building civilizations.
4- Students will pinpoint how the Indus valley civilization flourished and in what way it affected other civilizations.
5- Students will highlight the role of Mesopotamian civilizations in developing science, technology, writing, irrigation, and law.
6- At the end of this lecture, students will get to understand the rise and fall of the Egyptian Civilization and how it contributed to world development.
7- Students will learn how the Greek empire was built and how it affected nowadays politics and philosophy
8- Students will understand the development of the Greek civilization throughout different eras and ages.
9- Students will appoint how the Roman Empire became a world power.
