Course Description :

This introductory course oriented to 3rd year students of English  provides a theoretical and practical study of ESP. Itackles the related areas of ESP, starting with its delineation, origins, charcteristics, types, branches and it attempts as well to highlight some similarities and sheds the light on the major differences between ESP and EGP. Moreover, the ESP deveopment stages are presented with a detailed illustration. 

Course Objectives: At the end of this course, learners will be able to

1. understand the different concepts discussed  in ESP,

2. recognise the situation of ESP in Algeria.

Course description:
This course is designed to develop the reading fluency of students with its two dimensions, namely comprehension and speed. students will be able to understand a variety of texts by using differetn reading comprehension strategies such as previewing, predicting, questioning, skimming, and scanning. furthermore, students will improve their reading speed depending the reading text and purpose. also, students will be able to read a text critically and thus improve their critical thinking and reading skills, and increase analytical, inferential, and evaluative comprehension.
