    At the end of this course, students will be able to understand the nature of human language along with its related notions and fields.

Specific Objectives:

    1. Define the notion of language and the key concepts underlying human language.

    2. Distinguish human language from other systems of communication.

    3. Discuss the uniqueness of human language in comparison to animals systems of communication.

    4. Review the different subfields of the scientifc study of human language.
