Operational Objectives
Completion requirements
Specific Objective:
The student will distinguish between the body’s energy production systems and infer the relationship between nutrition and the activation of these systems during physical activity.
Procedural Objectives:
• The student will accurately differentiate between the three energy systems: phosphagen, glycolytic, and oxidative.
• The student will explain the role of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in supporting physical activities of varying intensities.
• The student will infer the impact of nutritional timing and micronutrients (such as B-complex vitamins) on energy production efficiency.
• The student will compare the characteristics of ATP production in each energy system in terms of speed, duration, and efficiency.
