Summary:   

       Recent researches in pronunction teaching had shown that speaking can be mastered through the effective teaching of phonetics. It is worthy, then, to indicate that phonetics is the indispensable foundation to all studies of language and, thus, the English speech sounds (consonants and vowels) should be mastered before any advance in other aspects of language. That is knowing what is phonetics and having a comprehensive survey on the articulatory phonetics is of a pramount importance for EFL learners. More important, the the correct description and articulation of the English sounds would help students to apply the phonemic symbols for word(s) transcription appropriately.
