Introduction to Linguistics (First Year License)
This course is designed for 1st-year EFL License students. It aims to present a comprehensive explanation about human language and linguistics. Throughout this course, students are presented with a number of definitions, examples and tasks for practice. At the end of the course, students are expected to understand the basic linguistic terms related to the mediums and characteristics of human language to explain its nature in comparison to animals' system of communication. In addition, students are expected to review the different subfield of linguistics as a scientific study of human language, namely: Phonetics & Phonology, Morphology & Lexicology, Syntax and Semantics.
