2. 2- Types of poetry:

Sonnet : A 14 lines poem. It was created by Dante and Francisco Petrarch and then it was elaborated by Shakespeare.

Limerick : a five-line witty poem with the following rhyme (A-A-B-B-A).

Haiku : It is a poem of Asian origin. It is composed of 3 lines. The first line has generally 5 syllables, the second has 7 and the third has 5.

 Epic: A long poem which glorifies a hero.

Couplet: Two verses which rhyme.

Free Verse: It does not follow a particular rule concerning rhyme and number of lines…. etc

Lyric: It can be an elegy, an ode and a sonnet. It is a poem meant to be sung.
