Description of the Lecture
This unit is an introduction into the “file the part of speech”. Throughout the unit students will become familiar with the meaning of grammar, meaning of part of speech and division of English words. The emphasis is to show a macro picture of the parts of speech file.
Objectives of the Lecture
When students have successfully completed this introduction, they should be able, among other things, to;
1. Define the term grammar.
2. List the main grammatical patterns of English language.
3. Define the parts of speech.
4. Recognize how parts of speech function in a sentence.
